Additional Experience

  • In September 2018, national outlets used Anna’s reporting on Kent State’s cancellation of ‘West Side Story’ out of context and without her permission. Anna wrote about the violation of journalism ethics in an editorial for KentWired, which you can read here.
  • In July 2018, Anna’s reporting on the the Nexus pipeline’s supposed ‘windfall’ for Ohio schools was featured on America’s Work Force Radio, hosted by Cleveland radio veteran Ed “Flash” Ferenc. Click here to listen to her full segment with Flash, starting at 44:06.
  • In the summer of 2018, Anna interned at WKYC Channel 3, Cleveland’s TEGNA-owned NBC affiliate. There, she assisted reporters with shooting video, writing packages and social media. She became an assignment editor on weekends, where she helped plan daily content and wrote breaking news stories on the web. Below are videos Anna produced as a summer news intern:

Before spending a full summer at Channel 3, Anna got her foot in the door two years prior during the Republican and Democratic National Conventions. There, she helped a team of TEGNA reporters fact-check convention speeches for convention coverage nationwide. She also helped cut and edit video, and that footage aired on TEGNA-owned stations across the U.S. Anna is grateful she had the opportunity to help cover one of the most contested elections in history. For more information about this unique experience, read here.
You may find an example of the fact-checking packages Anna edited video for here.
